Afro-Louisiana Heritage Tour

Do you enjoy the taste of gumbo and the sounds of zydeco? Well, this tour is for you! You’ll explore the African roots of these cultural customs and their connections to both Louisiana and Texas. You’ll visit some of southwest Louisiana’s best Black-owned restaurants, its most important cultural and historical sites, and lodge at a beautiful Black-owned hotel.

Join Sawari Tours on our exciting bus tours which highlight the nation's Black cultural and historical sites, and Black-owned businesses! Our tours are fun, engaging, educational, and family-friendly! They are led by expert tour guides and are held on comfortable, air-conditioned buses!

 Open to all ages! 

Tour departs from Houston at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 10th at This Is It Soul Food Restaurant (Houston, Texas) and travels to Lafayette, Louisiana and various stops along the way. Tour returns to Houston, Texas February 12th at 8:30 p.m. (This Is Is Soul Food Restaurant)

Tour attendees may park in the This Is It parking lot and load the tour bus.

FULL Tour Price: $650 (includes the price of all 8 meals, tour bus, tour guides, and all entry and activity fees)

OR Pay in increments

Payment #1: Non-refundable deposit of $390 DUE January 21

Payment #2: Non-refundable payment of $260 DUE January 28

*Lodging at Clarion Pointe Hotel is not included in the ticket price. Registered guests will be given a group rate and discount code link to book the hotel room once the deposit & registration is received.*  Rooms range from $80-95/night.

Masks are required and you will be asked to complete a release form before the tour begins.

There are no refunds for this tour unless it is cancelled.

Tours with low registrations will be cancelled and guests will be refunded.
